Weak opening for Indian indices

It was a weak start to day's trade proceedings. The Sensex is trading at 17482, down by 96 points. On the other hand, the Nifty is down by 34 points, trading at 5230. Speaking of the second-rung stock segment, both the CNX Midcap and the BSE Smallcap were down by 0.9 percent and 0.8 percent, respectively.
