Positive end to sluggish day's trade proceedings

Overall, it turned out to be a sluggish day of trading for Indian indices. Although market ended on a quiet note.

The Sensex closed the day at 17519, up by 29 points. On the other hand, the Nifty finished the day up by 14 points, at 5246. Speaking of the second-rung stock segment, both the CNX Midcap and the BSE Smallcap ended the day up by 0.31 and 0.06 percent, respectively.
